Unofficial New Fairview City Council Meeting brief of September 3, 2024.
Council Member Harvey Burger absent.
Agenda item 7A. Council unanimously approved the final plat for Phase 1 of the Settlers Glen development on FM407.
(The Phase 1 final plat complied with NF subdivision requirements. Both City Staff and the Planning and Zoning Commission recommend approval. Phase 1 is 64 half-acre single family residential lots and 5 open space lots on 54.345 acres. This will be the last development in NF with 1/2 acre lots and aerobic septic systems; OSSF- “on-site-septic-system”. The process is long, but NF is changing the OSSF ordinance to one acre minimum lot size with OSSF.)
Agenda item 7B was unanimously approved to update the Master Fee Schedule with a motion amendment to not increase the “Miscellaneous” fee.

Agenda item 7C. Council unanimously approved a vote for Mary Sarver to represent Region 8 on the Texas Municipal League Board of Directors.
(Mary Sarver is the Mayor Pro Tem for the city of Grandview. NF Mayor and Council consider a candidate from Grandview to be the best choice to represent us because of her firsthand knowledge of the challenges and needs of a small rural town. The other candidates were from Westlake, Hurst, and Haltom City).
Agenda item 7D. Council approved an interlocal agreement with TML Multistate Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool for employee health benefits.
(Our current provider, Blue Cross Blue Shield, is increasing our premium 17.25%. Switching to TML insurance would only be a 10% increase. We have eight full time employees and the new coverage will begin October 1st.)
