Agenda items 7A and 7B were pulled from agenda and not acted on at the request of Lennar Homes. Rockhill Investment is in the process of selling Oliver Creek (formerly named Shoop Ranch) to Lennar Homes. Lennar is requesting changes to zoning and the developers agreement.
7C- Council unanimously approved entering into an agreement with the Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District for a Rainwater Harvesting Grant Program contribution of $30,000. The southern exposure roof of the multipurpose building will be fitted with guttering and piping to feed a 10,000 gallon holding tank.
7D- A roll call vote of the Council and Mayor approved a maximum ad valorem tax rate of .329 per $100 valuation. New Fairview property tax revenue will be less due to lower gas field mineral valuations. Down approximately $100,000,000 from last year. City Staff is building a budget less than the approved maximum rate of 32.9 cents. This means next fiscal year’s budget will be approximately $100,000 less than last year’s budget. There will be a public hearing and Council roll call vote on the 2024-2025 proposed budget and tax rate at a special council meeting on September 10, 2024.
7E- Council voted unanimously to remove Julie Burger from the Planning and Zoning Commission.
